NYFW: MM6

The A/W 2013 MM6 Maison Martin Margiela collection was inspired by the 1952 Winter Olympic Games, capturing both excitement and glamour. Fittingly, the collection focused on outerwear, with wool, fur and nylon coats cut both classically and asymmetrically. The collection included other athletic-inspired apparel, like slim pants resembling ski pants, and satin track shorts. Silver and black striped coated, knit leggings were a part of many looks.  Fur, leather, and knits were key elements of the collection. A stunning autumnal colour scheme was used, with pops of reds and yellows brightening up looks. Style.com author Brittany Adams wrote: “One tunic dress incorporated a vintage ceramic pattern pulled from a tiled floor in the Maison, which was a literal interpretation of house codes.”  Needless to say, the ultra stylish, contemporary collection is a success.
