The past year has been barefacedly model-esque, with campaigns and covers dominated by Cara Delevinge, Georgia May Jagger, Karlie Kloss (just to name a few of those marking the most moments). The announcement of Balmain's choice of face for their new Spring 2014 campaign and a release of the ad's photographs, reigns in palace revolution. Pop and fashion culture icon Rihanna continues to influence street style perspective with high-end interpretation through the French brand.

In a bubblegum pink and white kimono with signature gold chain accent accessories and a compare and contrast houndstooth cardigan/low-V dress pairing; the campaign is overbold and eighties-emphatic. Olivier Rousteing, Balmain's creative director, noted in an interview with Women's Wear Daily anticipating the collaborative campaign that,"when the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete."

Nylon Magazine, with it's quick to be street smart fashionability, has put together a brief online overview of "all the trends you need to know" from the pre-fall collections shown over the month of December. Although there's still time to get into each designer and individual looks ready-to-be-worn right now, it covers some of the leitmotifs and overall points in thought that have been presented for the season including micro prints, menswear, fuzzy outerwear, black and white, jewel tones and a staged fringe comeback. The compiled gallery provides a reference for the proposed trend groupings. Happy reading of this convenient catching-up resource while in the hectic throes of the holidays!
