Myka Designs, Inc. is looking for four student volunteers at their upcoming trade show. This opportunity will help Fashion Merchandising students gain work experience, a reference letter for future jobs. and a set of Myka Jewellery.
The schedule is as follows:
CGTA & Mode Accessories Trade Show – Congress Center
& International Plaza Hotel, Dixon Road, Toronto
August 8 set up of CGTA Show
11:00-6:00
August 9 setup of Mode Accessories show 11:00-6:00
August 10-13
9:00-6:00 working at either one of the trade shows
August 14 pack up of CGTA Show
Duties will include:
PRE-SHOW – set up of tradeshow on Friday & Saturday,
unpacking boxes including display props and jewellery etc., preparing booth for
trade show, following the setup we will have a fairly simple training meeting
where we discuss what our product is, how our trade show operates and what is
expected of them during the show. We are
also considering a Cash & Carry Section to one of our booths and the
students would be trained for sales in this area only, not in the Myka order
writing section.
DURING SHOW – greeting customers, serving refreshments to
customers, keeping kitchen area neat and clean, keeping jewellery samples
organized and booth clean during and after trade show for next day – the
students will be selling the stock in our cash & carry section, they will
not be order writing in the Myka Section as they are not familiar with our
product and customers, however they will be present during the show and
experience the dynamics of a tradeshow and industry
END OF SHOW – pack up of jewellery and display props on Tuesday
night for Mode Show and Wednesday night for CGTA, cleaning, organizing all
tradeshow booth items to be packed into show crates.
Applicants should be outgoing, articulate, confident,
hardworking, reliable. It is very important that all volunteers are
committed to all the hours and show up for them. The shows are close to the airport on Dixon Road
both across from the Congress Center and also at the Congress Center, so they
must be able to reliably commute to this location.
All interested should email Myka Maja at maja@mykadesigns.com
