TFI Rocks!

Now that I have your attention you might be asking yourself what TFI is, does he mean TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival.  No, I mean TFI (Toronto Fashion Incubator).

Well what is TFI?

Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI) is a greatly respected non-profit organization devoted to supporting, and nurturing future fashionistas.  TFI plays a very important role in the growth and promotion of the Canadian fashion community by helping creative entrepreneurs to develop the business and professional skills they need to thrive and survive in the fashion world.

Now that I know what TFI is?  I am curious what does TFI do.

TFI provides an environment where creative self-starters can learn the ins and outs of the business aspect throughout educational seminars, private consultations with experienced mentors as well as strategic planning.  TFI also offers shared work space and an in-house design studio where up and coming designers can come and work on their designs.  TFI also offers a very powerful knowledge base system throughout TFIs’ many sales and marketing resources and leads.  But the most important aspect of TFI is their volunteer/internship programs and we as students need to volunteer as much as possible.  I as a member have participated in two of their volunteer opportunities, one being their annual Gala event and of course the most recent Toronto Celebrates Fashion Night Out.

TFI news from other media outlets.

So, where do I sign up?

Well you definitely have to contact TFI either by calling their contact number 1.416.971.7117 or email them at tfi@fashionincubator.com.  They offer student rates and they are based on a yearly membership.
