Fashion doesn't always have to be extravagant to be
beautiful. Emilio de la Morena shows that beauty can come from strong
sophisticated structure and gorgeous symmetry. Many of his designs featured
harsh yet intriguing use of cutouts and silhouettes, all working in his favor.
The cutout dresses in particular were a definite showstopper, adding risque to
an otherwise conservative collection.
Colour blocking was a consistent style,
specifically used with orange, red, blue and black. This made for a line not
overly feminine but captivating your attention with its powerful and concise
design. Geometry was once again used for this Fall 13 collection, as many LFW
designers have been experimenting with this trend. Emilio chose octagonal designs
in his A-line dresses and blazers. Pants were elegantly high-waisted, while
jackets and overcoats were loose and flowing. Overall a collection to be
recognized as business professional, stunning and an excellent addition to
London Fashion Week.
