“Jill Stuart’s fall muse was the modern, aristocratic Brit,
like Stella Tennat, said the designer before the show.” Reported by WWD

The collection ranged from structured pieces to quickly
turning sweet and modern, with dresses and collared bows. Keeping the colour
palette dark with blacks and navy’s, then came iridescent clothing, and lace
patterns were added to the garments giving them more femininity. More colourful
garments then made appearances such as floral printed dresses, as well as black
and gold dresses. The show ended with dresses ranging from red to burgundy,
with flower appliques. The theme of the show was accomplished, making women
want to look effortlessly cool.

Think gorgeous cocktail dresses at the classiest event of
the year, and you have Jill Stuart’s Fall 13 line. One by one the stunning
creations took the runway with each printed dress more mesmerizing than the
last. Details such as lace cutouts, classic peter pan collars and gorgeous
silhouettes made this an ultra-girly collection. Where there weren’t stunning
dresses there were classy business attire in all the right fabrics. Velvet,
silk, and lace adorned the models in figure flattering blazers, high-waisted
pants and skirts.
Colours were a mosaic straight from the autumn leaves themselves
in gorgeous golds and reds. Deep tones of teals and purples were also a heavy
highlight, many shown through flowering embellishments and pinstripes. A few of
the accessories were exceptionally whimsical including the use of
shoulder-accenting capes in varying lengths. A large erogenous zone for the
collection was the neck, with this focus being accented using delicate lace
necklines, collars and neck ties. An all around gorgeously feminine show! - Maddison
