Humber Fashion Arts student Lauren English takes to the runway for Alexander Wang! |
There is something so mesmerizing about his Fall
2013 collection that makes it clear how much beauty he sees in the changing of
seasons. The models (including Humber's very own Lauren English) graced the catwalk bundled in breathtaking layers of
leather and fur. The combinations of textures this coming fall is offering an
eccentric effect on the usual cold weather attire. Most of the pieces were
shown in sophisticated tones of steel grey, and a deep glossy black you can
never go wrong with. Others were in royal shades of navy, and a few in rust
infused blood-orange. These tones were emphasized in fur accents such as an
over the shoulder piece that transformed into arms-length gloves. Both
innovative and beautiful, they were paired with deep color blocking jackets of
varying lengths. Other creative styles that Wang offered included attached
mohair hoods, and cutout necklines. It seemed the more layers the merrier, as
each progression of experimentation worked out to his advantage. Stunning and
classic, the collection is nothing but the epitome of urban class. By: Maddison Brown
