NYFW: Lacoste

Felipe Oliveira Baptista described his collection as
“an imaginary Antarctic expedition.” (wwd.com)

With this futuristic atmosphere set in place, the clothing that accompanied it was very interesting and intricate. Starting with  womanswear, the clothing was filled with some Lacoste classics such as their polo’s, however leather and foam was added to synchronize the theme. Exaggerated and rounded shoulders also made an appearance which gave more volume to the garments, as well as latitude-longitude prints. The menswear was similar to woman’s but had leather and wool detailing on their outerwear and sweaters which gave an armor vibe to the clothing, and made for very interesting outerwear.

Overall the pieces were a lot more fashion forward than in the past, which is very refreshing!
