Rag & Bone offered a no nonsense toughness for their RTW
Fall 13 collection. They took to the runway with a certain edge, not uncommon for the
iconic brand. Coats and jackets were oversized with large collars and wide
hemlines. A lot of the pullover style outerwear were that 'boyfriend' fit that keeps coming back. Quilted leather and heavily knitted hounds-tooth print were a particular
highlight, featured together and separate in the outfits.
These combinations of
textures accentuated the tough urban feel of the line. Texture was a large
focal point in each outfit, offering many layers and combinations. They brought
it all together making for an edgy women’s collection by daringly adding knee-high
stockings to each outfit, most under texture-rich high-waisted skirts. Black was the focal colour of the line with
hard greys and deep blues along side it. Accent colours included deep eggplant
paired with gold, as well as monochromatic pops of magenta and oranges These
combined with the tough feel of textures and less form fitting outerwear made
for a daring and brave feel for Fall 2013.
