NYFW: Ralph Lauren

Everyone has times they wish they could just get away. For Ralph Lauren, it is Fall 13. His show took us on a whimsical adventure featuring Russian inspirations.  Velvet was the highlight textile of the runway, in both peacoats and dresses. All were displayed in richly elegant tones of blue, red, purple and green. Hats were a staple the collection, with almost every model accessorized with either something in fur to channel the Russian theme, or something of a more sailor quality.

With Ralph Lauren, nautical is always acceptable. A lot of his styles channeled the 90’s when it came to length; flowing maxi skirts with wide embellished belts and long necklaces. Lastly and always saving the best for last, were the absolutely stunning ball gowns. Each model emulated a Russian princess with the luxurious creations. All were full and textured, with extra feminine silhouettes and gorgeous fur accessories. Combining both adventure and glamour into the Fall 13 season, this line is a must see.
