PFW: Celine

“In what was certainly one of the most desirable collections of the season, Philo moved away from the now-iconic linear Céline aesthetic … and into clothing with a gentle swing of movement or great, rounded volume” (VOGUE)

Movement and volume were definitely major themes in the collection, along with fabulous silhouettes. The show started off with loose fitting skirts and sweaters, in soft colours such as rosy pinks, frosty whites and toned down grey’s, as well as soft textiles such as cashmere, wool and silk. Structured garments came next, with pointed shoulders and sharp edged pieces, the softness however, appeared in the way the pieces were draped. Adding more volume, cocoon coats made an appearance with silver detailed buttons and oversized collars. Texture appeared in the similar style coats however in fur and velvet, also in multicoloured plaid

The accessories were minimal as most of Pheobe Philo’s collections are, wanting to showcase the garments more. Nylon bags matched their paired garment, and necklaces and bracelets in strands of gold were also displayed.

Overall the collection was excellent, primarily the usage of cashmere and silk gave the collection beautiful balance between elegance and comfort. Then again Celine never fails to disappoint!
