Earlier today, House of Holland showed
their Fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection. It was full of eye-catching prints, tons
of texture, quirky embellishments, clashing brights and high-shine metallics.
According to designer Henry Holland, it was inspired by “girls in the East End
of London who dress like old ladies.” Suitably named “Nana Rave,” the
collection was upbeat and oddly cohesive.
Accessories, such as tortoise shell hats,
psychedelic socks, dangly earrings shaped like martini glasses and neon cat-eye
sunglasses with tiny bows on them were seen throughout. Silhouettes were kept
lady-like with low hemlines that bared little flesh. Models walked down a
carpeted runway with simple, beachy waves and eyes full of colourful, metallic
shadow. Altogether, the show was vibrant and successfully encapsulated a fun,
youthful spirit.
