Earlier today, Miuccia Prada showed her Fall
2013 ready-to-wear collection for Prada. The colours used were most typical
for Fall, except for the soft pinks and blues or the electric shades of red and
teal. Metallics and sheers were among the fabrics seen throughout. The shoes,
as usual, were charmingly strange and featured chunky soles and two buckles on
the ankles.
Key looks and elements were long coats,
skirts with matching jackets in tweed and gingham as well as asymmetrical,
knee-length hemlines. Luxurious
materials, such as furs, embellished fabrics and leathers were seen
throughout. Dresses with cinched waists were layered over loose knits and
draped non-chalantly off one shoulder. Models’ hair was wet-looking and
unkempt. This juxtaposition of opulence and dishevelled-ness was what made the
collection oddly wearable.
