NYFW: The Row

Minimalism is key for the Olsen twins in their latest collection from The Row. Their fall line offers a simplistic and modern approach at classic high-street style. There is no need for elaborate embellishments, or eye-catching colours for these two young entrepreneurs. Deep forest greens, sophisticated navy blues as well as muted creams and caramels stole the show in varying textures. Oversized yet chic, the jackets offered simplicity and contemporary rareness for the fall lines thus far.

Leather sleeves however is something we have seen on a few runways for the season, and The Row did it beautifully with both form fitting and bell cap sleeves. Cozy knits in creams and blues draped elegantly over long skirts, and tied with wide leather belts. The silhouette effect was shockingly beautiful even under the weight of the wide, heavily textured sweaters. A few intricate pieces included the Olsen’s jumpsuit, which offered the wide leather belt once again, this time used around the chest. A lot of pieces were seen with straight collars, a striking touch to the otherwise less form fitting designs. Overall the line was nothing if not contemporary perfection; yet another sign that The Row holds maturity beyond their years.
