It is difficult to formulate an opinion about Zac Posen’s
Fall 13 collection when you are continuously left speechless. His line
consisted of a mixture of mature business formal pantsuits, with tweed jackets
and embroidery. He didn’t feature many jackets but the ones that were shown
were simplistic and classic. These designs were quite muted compared to what
followed; stunning evening gowns that literally left us speechless. The gowns
were featured in jewel tones of deep navy blues, chocolate brown, gold and
crimson followed by sophisticated lilac and an eye-catching yellow.
They fit
beautifully, in a classic Hollywood style with stunning silhouettes. The
necklines were an enormous focal point, with little to no accessories distracting
from the beauty of the natural bias-cut neckline. Something else that was kept
consistent was the use of folds and draping, as well as delicate
embellishments. This is one show of many that I wish I could have seen in
person, as even the models make-up and hair were perfectly striking and
dramatic. You can’t expect anything less from Zac Posen.
