The
androgynous look is one of the stronger trends that we are seeing in Paris
Fashion Week, and Stella McCartney seemed highly influenced by this trend as
well. Demonstrating it in her pinstripe pattern, long and narrow silhouettes
and subtle and minimal makeup and hair.
The
show opened with tailored pinstripe suits, which were also apparent in dresses
and fit-and-flare tops. The material then become softer, with long sleeved silk
dresses, and soft cashmere sweaters. Colour came in the cocoon coats, which
have been a major piece for many collections however, they were overpowered by
McCartney’s skirts, the way they twisted at the knee, which fluidity and added
femininity to the otherwise masculine constructed garments.
Overall,
a beautiful collection which made otherwise constructed and stiff garments
beautiful movement, and we are sure to be seeing some of the pieces at next
season!
