To say Yohji Yamamoto’s collection was dark is an
understatement. Pretty much every outfit
was black-on-black-on-black. The mood
was also very dark and strong. Most of
the looks had long silhouettes, with long shirts and skirts, plus quite a few
men’s tailored pieces, paired with large brim hats.
Yamamoto brought forth the eccentric vibe of
Japanese girls with geometric shapes in some of his dresses and boots, as well
as rips, tears and slashes throughout some of his other pieces. He accessorized some of these outfits with
these awesome high gloves with pink or blue polish on the nail trim of the
gloves. We did see a few outfits that
were full colour, such as the light blue and tobacco brown mixed dresses, and
the purple/yellow, red/blue, and wine/orange knit sweaters and floor-length
skirts with knit boots.
